This icon was commissioned by CAFOD for the Catholic Church in England and Wales to commemorate the Jubilee Year 2025.
The icon was painted by Mulugeta Araya, an Ethiopian artist who studied at a college supported by CAFOD. Inspired by the tradition of Ethiopian iconography, the icon interprets Jesus’ words in Luke 4:16-21.
