Power to be action card

Every child has the power in them to achieve great things. But with one in six people still living without electricity, the hopes of millions of the world’s children are too often a distant dream.

Local, renewable energy is usually the cheapest, fastest and most efficient solution to bring power to the poorest communities. It can help families to lift themselves out of poverty, without harming the world we share.

The UK already spends money on energy access for the poorest communities through the World Bank. This is supposed to help tackle poverty – but currently only a tiny proportion of It supports the kind of energy that we know benefits the poorest communities.

By joining CAFOD’s Power to be campaign, you can speak up for local, renewable energy, and help shift this balance. So everyone can have the chance to fulfil their God given potential.

This action card is designed for you to help us influence how money is spent on access to energy. There are five variations of the same card, sharing the different stories from five children, their hopes and dreams and how access to renewable energy can help make those dreams come true.

Order these action cards for members of your parish or community to take action today.
